Leroy’s Detroit style soul food

On the menu: Southern-style dises by way of Detroit, such as fried chicken with waffles and syrup, black-eyed peas cooked with ham hocks, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, mashed potatoes made with sausage and bacon fat and something called Detroit-style Coney fries: French fries topped with cheese, pulled beef, tomatoes, bacon and morsels of fried chicken.

Where: Courtwood Crescent near Woodward Drive (near Maitland Avenue)

When: Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 am to 7 pm, Saturday and Sundays from noon to 8 pm. Aiming to be on the street by May 15th, but check for updates.
