Friends and well-wishers of the Ottawa Humane Society are expected to continue the late-summer garden party tradition hosted for years by the late Kurt Waldele, former executive chef at the National Arts Centre. Last year organizers at the 11th annual event raised $35,000, with an estimated 200 people paying $125 a ticket to enjoy good eats from some 20 of Ottawa’s most respected chefs, as well as wine and beer. Check the Humane Society website in the spring, when more details should be known.
**Food Tease’s take: I had the pleasure years ago to work along side Kurt Waldele at numerous events. He is truly missed in Ottawa’s food industry as well as his generosity that touched many organizations.
