Ottawa Wine & Food Festival: All New Ingredients!

By on October 26, 2016

For a food lover, there exists but one perfect and harmonious marriage…that of wine and food.

From rich and savoury dishes to the lightest of cuisines, nothing compliments them better than wine. Guests at this year’s Ottawa Wine and Food Festival will have the opportunity to enjoy such experiences. To discover and learn about the world’s top leading wines and of course taste dishes that will take your senses on a stimulating affair!

November 4th to November 6th will mark the 31st anniversary of the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival.

This year’s theme ‘All New Ingredients’, is going to make headway in regards to how the organizers have distributed their focus. The focus on wine and food appears to be on par. Something that true food lovers have been waiting for, myself included.

Don’t get me wrong, we all enjoy tasting a new ‘unheard of’ vino or rosé; but now picture that wine accompanied with a heavenly piece of cheese or crudité that will outshine anything you have ever tasted before…Now that’s a real wine and food festival!

Located at the EY Centre in collaboration with the newly built Infinity Convention Centre, the festival is going to exceed everyone’s expectations.

This year’s event literally has something for everyone – to cater to all wine and food aficionados.

Discover flavours you’ve never savoured and meet and learn from the makers and people behind them. – Ottawa Wine and Food Festival

The ‘All New Ingredients’ theme, brings with it new and exciting events and prime VIP access.

The festival is literally oozing the FUN motif! What could be more exciting than to literally stomp on some grapes at a wine festival?! Or to sample cheese from various countries in an actual cheese vault!

And the piece de résistance for us food lovers, the Tasting Alley hosted by the Infinity Centre.

Indulge in the both wine and food during the Tasting Alley at The Ottawa Wine and Food Festival (photo courtesy of the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival).

The Tasting Alley is a unique experience where guests will have the opportunity to sample 75 curated wines from around the world during the two-hour tasting. Guests will not only imbibe, but will also satisfy their inner foodie by indulging in four gourmet tasting stations and savour hors d’oeuvres created by Chef Jason Peters.

Plus much much more….

  • It's offocial, I'm now a CERTIFIED STEAK JUDGE🥩😋😍
Huge thanks to the @capitalbbqfest and to @bbq_thomson for organizing such a great BBQ event! A BBQ festival that BBQ lovers have been waiting for and it's still going strong tomorrow.
My morning started by becoming a Certified Steak Judge with @steakcookoffs co-founder and instructor Ken Phillips and judging some ridiculously tasty steaks from some serious grill masters 🥩😋 In between judging, I had the chance to walk the grounds and talk to some great people. Prime examples are Donut Rain On My Parade and @hamrforgeinc - two different companies entirely, but what they do have in common is a hardwired passion for their business which is felt right away...truly inspiring😍

  • He may be unsightly and ugly to look at, but this monkfish is my alltime favourite fish🐟 Monkfish have an incredible flavour profile and texture similar to that of lobsters 🦞, hence why it's nicknamed 'a poor man's lobster'. During my Ireland ☘press trip, I took the time to visit local food markets...the best place in my opinion for trying products. Cheeses, produce and pastries were on display and ofcourse to eat including Ireland's famed soda bread🍞😋😍 A fun fact about my flavourful scary looking friend...if you look closely, you will notice that he has a small fish in its mouth - monkfish use a modified spine on their head as a fishing pole and bait small fish toward their mouths. When the prey comes near, the monkfish takes a large gulp, which sucks the prey into its mouth and traps it behind rows of back-pointing teeth.😱 You have to respect and love nature😍

  • Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and befriending incredible chefs, sommeliers, farmers and producers from various countries🌏. And with that, I am excited to showcase PEI's only artisanal cheese maker, the @glasgowglenfarm owned and operated by @chefjeff1
Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Jeff and his thriving cheese farm and instantly loved the diverse and unique flavours that his products have.
For an upcoming project that I will be involved with, I will be using 2 of Jeff's tasty Gouda's (Beer and Bluda)
Not only does the Glasgow Glen Farm produce 15 varieties of Gouda, they also ship their tasty cheese across Canada directly from their PEI farm, for us to enjoy!!!😍😋 #foodblogger #travelblogger #cheeselover #cheese #gouda #artisanal #artisanalcheese #pei #supportinglocalbusiness #foodporn #foodgasm #foodpic #cheeseporn #cheesewheel #lovecheese #goudacheese #smokedgouda #thefoodtease #thefoodteaseeats #cheeseplease #morecheese
  • I'm very grateful for the diverse and extraordinary experiences I had while visiting the magical Emerald Isle, Ireland ☘🇨🇮
I never thought I'd be celebrating Saint Patrick's Day and enjoying my 1st ever pint of Guinness 🍺 in Dublin. Making my way towards Northern Ireland I stayed at the world famous 🏰@castleleslie and got the royal treatment👸🏼😍 - a surreal stay. Now for some excitement, walking across the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, visiting The Game of Thrones picturesque 'Dark Hedges' to meeting award winning chefs and checking off my bucket list of seeing upclose the Giant Causeway.
And the cherry on top....my trip gave me a surprising and memorable souvenir - being at the right place and the right time as I assisted in the birth of the cutest little lamb🐑😍 Thank you Ireland!! #foodblogger #travelblogger #tbt #luxurytravel #luxurylife #ireland #lovedublin #northernireland #waunderlust #girlbosslife #got #darkhedges #gameofthrones #giantscauseway #carrickareedropebridge #saintpatricksday #beer #bucketlist #lovemyjob
